Connections

Identity, Inclusion, Occupation, Comfort & Attachment

The Connections year-long training programme is rooted in the person-centred ethos of Thomas Kitwood, a pioneering British psychologist in Dementia care. Kitwood's philosophy emphasises the significance of recognising the personhood of individuals with Dementia, prioritising their unique identity and experiences over their diagnosis.

The training programme is designed to implement and embody Kitwood's ethos by placing a strong emphasis on the quality of connections and relationships. By acknowledging the powerful impact of human connection on overall well-being, it aligns with the understanding that social engagement is a fundamental aspect of a fulfilling life.
